In Santiago, and Loving It!!

Hi Everyone :)
It is our second day in Chile and we are feeling at home already. We arrived in Santiago at 6am on Monday morning, exhausted but really excited. The Chilean government has this very technological screening process at the airport where everyone must have their body scanned for signs of the swine flu- thank god we both passed and were not sent back to America! After we were cleared we had a taxi sent from the hostel come bring us to the Bed and Breakfast. You can check out where we are staying here: http://www.providenciabedandbreakfast.com/

Here is the hostel on the left. It is a quiet and cute street that is about 3 blocks from a main avenue where we have access to both the bus and train (public transportation).

Yesterday we went out to local restaurants and bar, we had some delicious food and tried out a couple Chilean beers :)

The owner of the hostel is named Veronica, and her daughter both work there and are extremely helpful. They told us about a tour bus that we are going to do tomorrow. It is a double decker style bus and you can hop on and hop off at different historical sites and get back on the next one for free (they run every half hour). We will post pics after the tour!

Here is me and Veronica :)

Love and miss you all,

Julia and George

  3. Just a fashion statement, DAD. Scarfs are very popular here, men and women wear them everywhere. Most of those are for my sista! We are going to a disco tonight to dance to some of your favorites from the 80`s.
